Cascaid charity reaches £1.5million for Cancer Research UK

By Teamspirit on Thursday, 10 August 2017

All our fundraising efforts here at Teamspirit in 2017 have been working towards helping Cancer Research UK continue their great work in fighting the disease.

We have been doing this in conjunction with the Cascaid charity – an initiative bringing peers together from across the asset management industry – who had a £1million target at the start of the year to reach the top of ‘The Totaliser’.

By the summer they had already achieved this target, and then some – the current total raised is a whopping £1.5million!

An August update - sent to senior participants across the industry - contains some great examples of the fundraising efforts that have helped – including Aviva Investors challenging the Dolomites ascent, Sanlam’s 850 mile cycle challenge, and Teamspirit’s walk to work day.

We will provide further updates as we help Cascaid try and reach £2million by the end of the year.

Finally, a thank you note from Sir Harpal Kumar, CEO of Cancer Research UK:

“We are hugely grateful to all of you for helping to make research like this possible. The progress we have made so far would not happen without your continued support. We hope that you feel proud of the impact you are having; together we believe we can reach our goal of seeing 3 in 4 patients surviving their cancer by 2034.”
