For The Better 2021 now open for new entries

We’re delighted to launch this year’s For The Better Award in partnership with
The Finance Innovation Lab.

Now in its third year, the award gives £10,000 of communications support and expertise to an organisation that’s helping to change the world of finance for the better.

Our focus this year is on finding an ambitious organisation working in purpose-driven banking. This includes ethical banks, mutual banks, credit unions, community development finance institutions and building societies. The deserving winner will need to demonstrate they’re on a mission to do things differently and have social or environmental purpose at the heart of their business model.

Previous award winners include Avon Mutual, a community bank based in the West Country who we helped to develop a new action-led narrative to position their brand. Their mission is to create a new type of bank that supports the people and businesses of the region and enriches the local economy, by offering an equal say in how the bank is run and a strong focus on customer service. What a fantastic mission to be a small part of. We’ve also supported Fair Money Advice to challenge debt stigma and encourage people to seek help to take control of their debt through an impactful PR and social media campaign. And for Vestpod, a community platform that helps financially empower women, we helped to double their Instagram following and achieve amazing press coverage for an International Women’s Day event and promotion of their founder’s book.
