Diversity Award wins

Winning two diversity awards at the FT Adviser Awards this week feels like an important step for us. We know we still have much to learn about and improve on but, we are honing our efforts on all aspects of diversity, equity and inclusion at Teamspirit. Appointing our first Head of DE&I was vital to driving these initiatives forward, and in Sandy Downs we have a passionate, knowledgeable and driven advocate who has already made a big difference. So her recognition in winning the Diversity Champion Award is really well deserved.

Our second award was for our work in gender diversity. As with all DE&I initiatives, it’s important to judge on actions rather than words. And that’s why as well as being the first agency to sign the Women in Finance Charter, we have a 50:50 gender split on our board, a female CEO and a female joint Managing Director, as well as a women’s network and mentoring for young female staff from all backgrounds to inspire confidence, progression and future female leadership.

As an industry we need to work harder, and faster, to create a more inclusive workforce. It’s something we are very passionate about and I’m looking forward to working with Sandy and our DE&I board to continue to drive change both in our business, and in the industry as a whole.
